Challenges of Adolescents

Today, Children are exposed to TV and print media, which promote instant gratification desires, low frustration tolerance and false ideals. They glorify violence and sex in no mean proportions. They are easily taken to fast food culture and sedentary life style. Added to this, substance abuses such as smoking & alcohol consumption are widespread. These affect their physical and mental health.

What are Life skills ?

Life skills are ‘living skills’ or abilities for adaptive and positive behaviour that enable individuals to deal effectively with demands and challenges of every day life (WHO, 1997) 

In particular, life skills are a group of cognitive, personal and interpersonal abilities that help people make informed decisions, solve problems, think critically and creatively, communicate effectively, build healthy relationships, empathise with others, and cope with and manage their lives in a healthy and productive manner. Dr.V.Veera Balaji Kumar, a National institute of mental health and neuro sciences (NIMHANS) certified Life skills trainer, is the founder director of the company. An accomplished homoeopathic physician and a Psychologist with an MPhil in Psychology from Bharathiar University. He has logged in more than 200 hours of life skills training for school and college students

Mr.V.Prakash is the Executive director of the training division. He underwent Yoga teachers training program at Bihar school of yoga at Mungere, and Counseling training at Christian counseling centre (CCC) , Vellore. He is training students and industrial workers for more than three decades. A Rotarian with Paul Harris fellowship, and an accomplished Transactional Analysis expert. He facilitates Life skills coaching sessions with a compassionate approach. He has authored the book, “Unnaiye nee arivai”.

LLS Training Methodology

LLS adopts an experiential / participatory training approaches such as role-play, case studies, debate, quiz and group discussions to promote inculcation of the essential life skills. Usually, adolescents reject prescriptive methods like morals, implicit suggestions etc. LLS trainers adopt the role of ‘facilitator’ rather than a ‘teacher’. Participants are not mere learners but are also encouraged to become facilitators and healers
